Online Safety for Parents of Carers
Online Safety for Parents or Carers – 1.5 Hours (Extendable to 2 Hours)
Booking this flexible Online Safety Briefing for Parents or Carers will evidence your appreciation of the need for a truly holistic approach to online safety education. Parents and carers often feel overwhelmed by the internet and emerging technologies, which can lead to feelings of helplessness and fear.
This introductory session will provide parents and carers with an overview of some of the key risks children face when engaging with digital technologies, and present some simple strategies that can be employed within the home to improve online safety, including technical solutions. Parents will be signposted to a wealth of further information and advice, and learn how to report online safety incidents should they arise.
Research by Ofcom in 2015 revealed that a third of parents and carers believe that they know less about the internet than their children.
